Jonathan Djanogly was first elected as the Conservative MP for Huntingdon in 2001, being reelected in 2019 with a majority of 19,383.
The constituency of Huntingdon in the south west of Cambridgeshire is well known for formerly being represented by the Conservative Prime Minister, John Major, at Westminster. Alongside the town of Huntingdon with its fast train line into London, it also includes the communities of St Neots, St Ives, and Godmanchester. Previously the safest Conservative seat in the country back in 1992, Huntingdon was once represented in Parliament by Oliver Cromwell back in the mid 17th century.
Djanogly served briefly in the government as Under Secretary of State for Courts and Legal Aid between 2010 and 2012.
Born in 1965, Djanogly worked as a solicitor, and became a partner at the firm, SJ Berwin, before being elected to Parliament.  In 1994 he also set up a mail order business with his wife, Rebecca. According to the Register of Members Interests, he is the Chairman of the venture capital trust, Pembroke VCT plc.
He served on Westminster City Council between 1994 and 2001.
He supported Remain in the 2016 Brexit referendum, and backed Matt Hancock and then Jeremy Hunt in the 2019 Conservative Party leadership election.
Djanogly rebelled against the government on the issue of Covid passports.
Jonathan Djanogly is Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Groups on Georgia; and Corporate Responsibility. He is Vice Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Groups on Ukraine; Boxing; and the East of England.
Djanogly has two children, and is Chairman of the British Shooting Sports Council.
