Senior Conservative MP asks for reassurance that investigation into Boris Johnson will be ‘free and unfettered’
In House of Commons business questions today, Conservative MP Simon Hoare questioned the government on threats to the independence of the privileges committee which is investigating whether former prime minister Boris Johnson misled the House.
Mr Hoare said: “Does my Right Honourable friend agree that members of the committee are doing the House a service that they should be free and unfettered to get on with their work and free of interference or intimidation?”.
