Ed Miliband questions the Green Party’s commitment to building energy infrastructure

Ed Miliband has questioned the Green Party’s commitment to building energy infrastructure amid a row over co-leader Adrian Ramsay’s opposition to a project in his consistency.

Ramsay, the MP for Waveney Valley, has called for a “pause” on a proposed 114-mile electricity pylon route across East Anglia

Miliband, the secretary of state for energy security and net zero, told the House of Commons on Thursday: “I also say to [Carla Denyer, Green Party co-leader] that in the constructive spirit of these exchanges, I would ask that the Green Party thinks about its commitment to tackling the climate crisis, which we all share.

“And then thinks about this question of infrastructure, because if it wants to tackle the climate crisis, but at the same time, leading members of the Green Party are saying no to new energy infrastructure. That simply doesn’t add up.”
