Conservative MP appears to label Lineker ‘self-indulgent, out of touch, insensitive, avaricious and smug’

In an urgent question today on BBC impartiality, Conservative MP Sir John Hayes appeared to attack Gary Lineker as a “self-indulgent, out of touch, insensitive, avaricious, smug, an arrogant football pundit”.

He added: “Will [the minister] affirm that impartiality is critical to its continuing role? It is respected throughout the world for that, the World Service springs to mind”.
