James McMurdock: ‘Reform UK is growing rapidly — and we are ready to deliver the change Britain needs’

This has been an extraordinary week for our movement. Reform UK is growing rapidly, reflecting the country’s deep desire for change. With membership now standing at 85,000, we are offering something that resonates with the British public. The momentum was palpable at our 2024 Party Conference in Birmingham, where 4,000 members gathered, marking the largest event in our party’s history.

This conference wasn’t just about numbers — it was about substance. A key moment was the adoption of our new party Constitution, overwhelmingly approved by delegates. This was a landmark for our movement, placing members firmly at the heart of the party, ensuring accountability and a member-driven democracy.

In just two months, we’ve opened over 260 branches across the UK, giving people nationwide a chance to get involved and make their voices heard. This rapid growth shows that our message is resonating and that people are eager to fight for a better future.

The approval of our Constitution wasn’t just procedural — it was a powerful statement about Reform UK’s core principles. We believe in transparency, accountability, and the idea that political power should rest with the people.

Like many of you, I’ve felt deep frustration with the direction of this country. For years, I watched as the political establishment failed to address Britain’s real issues. The Conservative Party’s inability to deliver meaningful change, combined with Labour’s offer of high tax, low growth, sounds nice (is bad) dogma, left millions of us disillusioned. I even considered spoiling my ballot at the last election out of sheer frustration with the choices on offer. That all changed when I encountered Richard Tice, one of the driving forces behind Reform UK.

Nigel Farage, our leader, speaks with rare clarity and conviction. When he talks about getting our economy moving, putting more money in the pockets of hard-working Britons, and addressing long-ignored issues like immigration — he speaks directly to the frustrations we’ve all felt for years.

My journey with Reform UK began with a simple decision to join. After hearing Richard Tice lay out the party’s vision, I paid the £25 membership fee and got involved. I believed in their message and wanted to be part of a movement offering real solutions. What I didn’t realise was just how far that £25 would take me.

Since joining, I’ve seen the party grow at an incredible rate; 85,000 members, all united by a desire to fix what’s broken in our country. This growth is about more than numbers; it’s about building and empowering a grassroots movement that can challenge the political establishment and bring about meaningful change. The energy and enthusiasm at our Birmingham conference made it clear that Reform UK is ready to do just that.

The enthusiasm of the members at the conference was palpable. The atmosphere was electric, and it was clear that we are building something special. We are not a small voice on the fringes of British politics. In the real world, not constrained by the workings of Westminster, we are becoming a major force, capable of making a real difference in upcoming elections. Reform UK has shaken its image as a protest movement into a viable, serious, alternative to the broken political system.

As we look towards the next general election, Reform UK’s role is crucial. The political establishment has failed to address the needs of the British people for too long. From the increasing tax burden and failure to secure our energy future to the inability to control our borders, the old parties have let us down. But we don’t have to accept that anymore.

Reform UK offers a real alternative. Our policies focus on delivering results that will improve the lives of ordinary Britons. We believe in lowering taxes to put more money back in the pockets of working families, securing our energy supply to protect Britain’s future and economic growth, and addressing immigration responsibly — something the other parties have ignored for decades.

We aren’t just talking about these issues; we’re building the infrastructure needed to enact real change. With Nigel Farage and Richard Tice, we have the leadership to take on the establishment and win. We’re ready to fight in the upcoming elections and to deliver the change Britain so desperately needs.

Reform UK’s growth has been remarkable, but this is just the beginning. With 85,000 members, 260 branches, and growing support across the country, we are laying the foundation for a political revolution. The old parties are out of ideas and out of touch. Reform UK is the future, and together, we will make it happen.

Our message is clear, and it’s resonating with the British public. The establishment can no longer ignore us. We are here to challenge the status quo, fight for a better Britain, and ensure politics works for the people once again.

As we move forward, I am confident that Reform UK will continue to build on this momentum. The enthusiasm from our supporters, the dedication of our growing membership, and the demand for a new approach to politics are undeniable. We are no longer a party that can be dismissed. The British people are tired of the same failed ideas, and they are turning to Reform UK for answers. With Nigel’s leadership and the passion of our members, we are on the path to real change. Together, we will reshape the future of British politics and deliver the solutions this country so desperately needs.
