BASC's membership numbers hit record high

The British Association for Shooting and Conservation's membership numbers have reached a record high this year.

The number of individual members has grown to 127,000. Seven years ago, BASC had 112,000 members which means the association has gained an additional 15,000 members since November 2000.

Director of communications, Christopher Graffius, said: "The strong growth in BASC membership, despite a difficult economic situation, is testament to the strength of the Association and the popularity of sporting shooting."
