TACT: 2013 Virgin London Marathon

2013 Virgin London Marathon

Join TACT at one of the greatest sporting events on the planet and help give a child in care a future to smile about.

We have a number of guaranteed places available in the 2013 Virgin London Marathon on Sunday 21 April and we'd love to welcome you onto the team.

Each runner will be asked to raise a minimum of £1,500 which will go towards supporting children and young people in care.

We support our runners all the way to the finish line. If you run for TACT you can expect to receive:

  • A TACT running vest to proudly wear during training and on the day.
  • Fundraising and training support
  • The opportunity to attend a post-race reception where you can unwind, meet other runners and receive a well deserved massage!

Who am I running for?

It is a sad fact that the majority of looked after children and young people have come into care having suffered abuse or neglect. We know that without the appropriate support, the traumas they have experienced stay with them throughout their childhood and into their adult life. These traumas can hold them back in many ways throughout their lives.

Giving them the opportunity to enjoy days out and fun activities can have a huge impact on their lives. Children in care don’t normally have the chance to experience ‘normal’ activities the rest of us take for granted, like going to the seaside. The money we get through fundraising events such as the London Marathon allows us to continue providing these treasured activities.

We believe that by investing in a child’s future now it will not only benefit them but society as a whole. Every child deserves to have the right start in life and experience a happy childhood. With your support we can continue to ensure children in care have this most basic right.
