What We Do

Care & Services
We have been at the forefront of providing innovative and effective care and support services to disabled people for 160 years, both as John Grooms and the Shaftesbury Society.

We now provide services to over 8,000 disabled people and their families. We are committed to working towards meeting the varied needs of disabled people and providing services that offer real choice and independence.

Education
Education is at the heart of our work, we run one school and two colleges for children and young people with complex or exceptional learning and care needs.

In the changing world of special education, we are an adaptable organisation, committed to developing partnerships with local authorities and investigating new ways of delivering inclusive services.

Housing
On 28 Feb 2010 Livability Housing and Habinteg Housing Association merged and are now providing affordable accessible housing services for disabled people together under the Habinteg name. For more information on Habinteg please go to their website http://www.habinteg.org.uk or ring the Habinteg Customer Services department on tel: 0845 606 2608.

Holidays - Quality, access, choice
We provide a wide range of accessible holiday accommodation offering quality, access and choice at affordable prices.
